NUMBER 10 – EASTERN LIONS v FOREST HILL

Division 4, Round 11 – Fairpark Reserve

A mid-season last chance saloon of sorts for the home side. Eastern Lions had kick started their season with a couple of early wins including a tight victory over 2015 Grand Finalist Kilsyth under lights in Round 3. Sitting at 4-6 heading into Round 11 the Lions found themselves just one win out of the top 4 and had the chance to not only take a top 4 scalp but stay within arm’s reach of those in finals contention.

For Forest Hill an inconsistent start had finally begun to right itself at the halfway mark of the season. With a host of recruits the highly-touted Zebras outfit had started to take a stranglehold on the competition.

As was the case in several games this season Forest Hill gained the early advantage with straight kicking vital to holding a quarter time advantage. A deficit of 15 points with cut to just five in the second and third terms as the Eastern Lions showed true grit and determination in the fightback.

Pancake Parlour EFL Gameday headed out to Fairpark Reserve for the second time in as many years to cover what would be a classic Division 4 encounter… And with a severe downpour in the 24 hours prior to the game it did not disappoint.

Join Ben Warren-Smith, Louie Bulzomi (Play-by-Play), Damian Watson and Will Taylor (Special Comments), Will De Jong (Chiropedic Bedding Boundary Rider) as you relive this Division 4 classic!
