Meanwhile, South Croydon shook off a gallant Bayswater outfit, running out 31-point winners at Cheong Park. The Waters drew within 12 points at three-quarter-time, before a five-goal-to-one final term.

In the match of the round across all four divisions, Doncaster East ended Knox’s unbeaten run on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Falcons by 61 points at Zerbes Reserve. Nick Batsanis was the hero for the Lions, booting five majors.
Meanwhile, a seven-goal haul from Kire Talevski wasn’t enough to drag the Mustangs over the line, as the Waverley Blues caused one of the upsets of the season, running out 24-point winners.

Park Orchards has suffered its second loss by a point in a fortnight, with Scoresby taking the four points in a thrilling encounter at Domeney Reserve.
The Magpies came from 17 points down at half-time to reduce the margin to just a point at the final change, before outlasting the Sharks in a nail-biting final term. Wade McConnon starred for Scoresby, with four goals.

In Division 4, Donvale continued its blistering form, defeating fellow finals-aspirant Coldstream by a resounding 83 points. Purcell was the key focal point up forward for Donvale, finishing the match with six goals.
