It was upsets aplenty in Division 1 this weekend, with Noble Park defeating Balwyn by 37 points at the Pat Wright Senior Oval off the back of Gwilt and Marson each booting four majors.
At Seebeck Oval, Rowville enjoyed a 22-point win over the finals-bound South Croydon, while Vermont suffered its first loss of the season at Mullum Reserve. The Norsemen’s Matt Aver finished with five goals.
In Division 2, Mooroolbark knocked over premiership favourite Doncaster East by 35 points, off the back of six majors from Kire Talevski, while Wantirna South remains in the hunt for the finals, recording a 30-point win over Croydon.
Against the odds, Boronia managed to topple Park Orchards in Division 3, in a thrilling encounter by nine points at Tormore Reserve. Paterson and L.Watson combined for a total of nine goals up forward for the Hawks, to keep Boronia in the finals hunt ahead of a huge clash with Templestowe next weekend.
In the match of the round in Division 4, Donvale emerged 18-point winners over Surrey Park to retain top spot on the ladder. Nicholas Murphy and Jack Purcell were again leading the charge for the Magpies, kicking five and four respectively in arguably the most potent forward combination in Division 4.
