NUMBER 7 – EASTERN LIONS v WANTIRNA SOUTH (Netball)

In just its third season, Netball EFL has attracted several quality teams to play under lights on a Friday night. One of those has led from the front since their inclusion into the competition, and in 2016 claimed their second top flight title in as many years.

Eastern Lions may not have had as dominate a 2016 as their 2015 Division 1 season however in a tight competition any of the four sides who qualified for finals could have taken home the ultimate prize.

After claiming comfortable wins in the first two weeks of the finals, a matchup with close rival Wantirna South was set for Grand Final night a side the Lions had played twice during the season, both resulting in tight finishes.
