We are saddened to inform you of the passing of EFL Trainers Association President and much loved EFL person Graeme Cocking. Graeme recently suffered a stroke whilst on holiday.
Unfortunately, he suffered another stroke on Saturday morning and passed away quietly on Saturday afternoon.
Graeme was a trainer for the Mitcham Football Club for 20 years, the Head Trainer for a number of those years. He was awarded Life Membership of the Mitcham Football Club in 1994.
Graeme joined the EFL Trainers Association in 1992 and was elected President in 1999. He was made a Life Member of the EFL Trainers Association in 2004. Throughout his time in the EFL Graeme was also a regular trainer for EFL Senior Interleague teams. Graeme was awarded an EFL Recognition of Service Award in 2002 and a Services to The Game award in 2012.
Graeme was very passionate about the Trainers Association and put in a lot of time organising courses, visiting grounds to ensure trainers were doing the right thing, liaising with the EFL office and ensuring the committee worked to his high standards. He was a wonderful family man and an all-round terrific person.
The EFL family send our condolences to Graeme’s wife Joan, children Jason, Adam and Simone, family and friends.
