In one of the matches of the season, Donvale and Forest Hill produced a grand final for the ages at Walker Park on Saturday afternoon, with the Magpies prevailing by 13 points.

In a seesawing affair, the Zebras led at quarter-time before Donvale hit back in the second term, taking an eight point lead into the main break. Forest Hill held the momentum for much of the third quarter, taking a one-point lead into the final change.

Enter Donvale’s Nick Murphy, who produced two telling final quarter goals to guide his side to a memorable premiership victory. Murphy finished with five goals, and was named the Frank Bibby Blue Ribbon Medallist.

Donvale becomes the first EFL club to win a premiership in each of the four divisions.
